What can be done to implement the European Standards of Care for Newborn Health (ESCNH)? This is a question that does not only concern EFCNI but also national parent organisations. At the ESCNH workshop in Munich parent representatives from all over Europe, presented their plans and actions to implement the standards in their country, giving each other new ideas and support. EFCNI started to organise the workshops regularly to support the parent organisations network in implementing the standards in their countries. It is an excellent opportunity for the parent’s representatives to learn from the broad experiences of the EFCNI team. Since a lot of different stakeholders need to be addressed and every country faces different challenges, the approaches the parent organisations take are manifold. They organise and participate in workshops, conferences and congresses. Roundtables are also set up, policy briefs are written and there is even the plan to implement the standards in a hospital.
