A Strong Start for Little Heroes

A Strong Start for Little Heroes is a large-scale initiative, which EFCNI initiated in 2016. Our aim is to support neonatal intensive care units in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland in the organization of their own events on World Prematurity Day on 17th November. For this purpose, all participating hospitals received a package full of material to celebrate World Prematurity Day – presents for parents of hospitalized infants, and giveaways for visitors and promotional material.

More than 170 hospital units in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland participated in the fourth edition of A Strong Start for Little Heroes in 2019 and organized various events to support children and families affected by preterm birth. Stay tuned via the German campaign webpage (see button below) for regular updates about the campaign.

After the very successful premiere in 2016, EFCNI proudly presents the continuation of its large-scale initiative in 2017: Neonatal intensive care units in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland were invited to celebrate World Prematurity Day on 17 November with in-house events. EFCNI offered them an enhanced action package for the celebration of their event(s)! More than 170 hospitals participated in  Strong Start for little Heroes 2017 and thus raised awareness for preterm birth.

“We are overwhelmed with the great participation in 2017. About 170 hospitals have registered their NICU for participating in ‘A Strong start for little Heroes’. The subscribing period has ended and the action packages will be delivered within the next weeks. The tension is raising and World Prematurity Day is knocking on the door. We wish all participants a successful preparation!”
