The fight against preterm birth and for the best possible start in life and the mission to improve prevention and treatment can only be accomplished when people and organisations from a broad range of fields join forces and work together. This is the philosophy that guides EFCNI in its many partnerships with national and international organisations around the world.
Concern for preterm birth is shared by many organisations – ranging from policy-oriented bodies like the WHO or the EU, to health professional organisations, to advocacy groups concerned about patient rights or women’s or children's health. Working hand in hand with such groups, EFCNI is able to maximize the effectiveness of various projects and programmes and benefits from synergies that grow from these partnerships.
In the past, partnerships, projects or affiliations have been initiated with policy and advocacy-related organisations such as the WHO, the European Community and the European Parents' Organisations.
In order to reach those specific health professionals having impact on the diagnosis and treatment of parents from preterm and newborn infants with illnesses, EFCNI works closely with various healthcare organisations. These include international and national organisations such as the Union of European Neonatal and Perinatal Societies (UENPS), COINN- Council of International Neonatal Nurses (COINN), European Critical Care Foundation (ECCF), German Society for Neonotology and Paediatrician (GNPI).
As an umbrella organisation, EFCNI´s most important partnerships are these corporate partners, all of which cooperate together on a wide number of projects to get a strong voice for the best possible start in life.
