The European Foundation for the Care of Newborn Infants (EFCNI) was set up in January 2008. It is the first time that people from diverse disciplines, who are all involved in the care of newborn infants and particularly preterm infants, have come together at European level.

EFCNI is particularly keen to establish a link between parents and doctors/scientists.
EFCNI was started by parent groups, scientists and the founders.
